Baby girl photo session with Centreline Design in Lindsay Ontario.
Little Miss Alina made me work hard for her images. She broke my record for the longest newborn session! We didn’t plan on a long session but she had some tummy issues bothering her that were out of our control. I have learned a lot about newborns over the past few years with education and stories from all the mothers that come in to the studio. I find it so fascinating, how every pregnancy, delivery, first couple weeks can be so different for everyone. I try to only book one newborn within a day incase we run into longer sessions then planned for this exact reason. Thankfully most newborn sessions aren’t this long, and Alina’s family still got some beautiful images to look back on for years to come. I often use bold colours in my newborn sessions, but we went with all neutrals for her newborn session.
Studio is located in Kawartha Lakes if you’re interested in booking a session. Newborn sessions are usually 2-3 hours long, and you have your choice in colours to use. Feel free to ask any questions if you are looking for a photographer.

Two common stomach issues for newborns are colic and reflux.
- Colic: Colic is characterized by excessive crying in an otherwise healthy and well-fed infant. The exact cause of colic is not fully understood, but it’s believed to be related to gastrointestinal discomfort or immature digestive systems. Colicky babies often cry inconsolably for extended periods, typically in the late afternoon or evening. Colic usually peaks around 6 weeks of age and typically resolves by 3 to 4 months old.
- Reflux: Reflux, also known as gastroesophageal reflux (GER) or infant reflux, occurs when stomach contents, including stomach acid, flow back up into the esophagus. This can happen due to a weak or immature lower esophageal sphincter (the muscle that normally keeps stomach contents from flowing back up). Symptoms of reflux in newborns include frequent spitting up, irritability during or after feeding, arching of the back, and difficulty sleeping. Reflux is common in newborns and usually improves on its own as the baby’s digestive system matures.
Both colic and reflux can cause discomfort and distress for newborns and their caregivers. If you suspect your baby is experiencing either of these issues, it’s important to consult with a paediatrician for proper evaluation and guidance on managing symptoms and providing relief for your baby.
